3DSuit is a personal motion capture system. A personal navigation system and an angular orientation system are complexed in 3DSuit. Innalabs OSv2 inertial sensors integrated into a specially designed body suit, transmit motion data to a PC. Innalabs Joints II algorithm processes these data and calculates position and orientation of all body parts in real time.

Thanks to inertial sensors used, 3DSuit can be used anywhere, because this technology doesn't require cameras, emitters, markers or special facility for motion capture. 3DSuit can be operated by animator without any assistance, which is necessary for other systems calibration and operation.

Of course, 3DSuit can be used not only for computer animation.

To name a few, it can be used also for:

  • medical research (recording body movements data for rehabilitation);
  • sports and education (golf, baseball, dancing);
  • interactive gaming and virtual reality.

The greatest advantage of this technology is that inertial sensors are used.

Thus,

  • No special facility, binding to surrounding, long calibration required before recording. You just take a small case with 3DSuit and go wherever you want to record..
  • No data loss caused by marker occlusions is faced. This is a big shortcoming of optical motion capture systems.

No learning curve required, you just use Autodesk Motion Builder - the most widely-used tool for character animation.

Animation data is exported as TRC, FBX or BVH.

Installing the 3DSuit software takes no longer than starting up your PC.

Innalabs Mocappi - a specially designed and well-thought set of fixtures allows to put 3DSuit on actor of any height and weight.
