Training and Simulation

In the fields of training and simulation inertial technologies have only begun to really have an impact in 'how things are done.' Today, its use is limited largely to simple tracking in a small number of virtual reality training applications. However, with the continuously decreasing cost and increasing performance of inertial sensor technologies, the reality of the future is under development today.
Virtual reality (VR) technologies provide the promise of offering an ability to perform realistic live training anywhere, at any time. Furthermore, as the training is software based, virtually any type of training can be performed. The same exact equipment that would be used to train soldiers in live force-on-force combat could be used to train them how to perform maintenance operations on weaponry.
At 3DSuit, all of our products and development efforts have application within training and simulation.
- Infrastructure-less full-body motion tracking. For the future immersive training environment its needed to be able to perform training virtually anywhere at any time. With no need for pre-existing infrastructure of any kind, 3DSuit is able to be used at any location within minutes. More.
- Accurate position and orientation tracking in one complete system. If utilized in a live training exercise it would be possible post-training to display an animation of the complete exercise in a 3D virtual world simulation of the environment. More.
- Any combination of sensors can be used to track virtually anything that is desired. If its needed to track the head, weapon, and posture status, a sensor cluster could be used with the SDK to provide that data back to the system. More.
- Track movements of the head in real-time allowing for use with Head Mounted Displays (HMDs) in combination with real-time rendering in virtual reality. More.
